Office of Compliance and Enforcement
The Office of Compliance and Enforcement (OCE) conducts the following duties:
- enforces compliance with the state's environmental laws (including permit conditions and requirements);
- responds to emergencies and natural disasters that threaten human health and the environment;
- oversees dam safety and watermaster programs;
- monitors air and water quality within Texas; and
- oversees the operations of 16 regional offices across the state.
OCE is made up of the following:
- Critical Infrastructure Division
- Enforcement Division
- Monitoring Division
- Regional Offices (in four areas):
- Border and Permian Basin Area
- Central Texas Area
- Coastal and East Texas Area
- North Central and West Texas Area
